Mitigation Activities Description
Mitigation Activities: Agriculture and Forestry

Agriculture:
1. Improved infrastructure (improving irrigation system)
2. Application of cultivation technology for food and horticulture
3. Development of organic farming (utilization of organic fertilizers and biopesticides)
4. Extension of crop plantations in non-vegetation areas in production forests and in non-forest estates(Areal Penggunaan Lain).

Forestry:
1. Improved governance (establishment of forest management units, increased carbon sink, reduced in deforestation and degradation)
2. Increased efforts in forest estates (development of Planted Industrial Forest(Hutan Tanaman Industri), for example: Natural Forest Management Permits(Hak Pengusahaan Hutan or HPH), Community Timber Plantation(Hutan Tanaman Rakyat), Community Forest(Hutan Kemasyarakatan), Village Forest(Hutan Desa), increased land cover)
3. Improving the quality of forest resources (restoration of ecosystems such as Natural Forest Management Permits(HPH), management of mangrove, forest and land rehabilitation, construction of urban forests)

Mitigation Activities: Energy, Transport, and Industry

Energy:
1. Development of renewable energy (Solar Power Plant, Hydro Power Plant/Micro-Hydro Power Plant)
2. Energy conversion of kerosene to LPG (socialization of energy conservation)

Transport:
1. Development of BRT (Bus Rapid Transit)
2. Revitalization of public transport

Mitigation Activities: Waste

1. Waste Management Program
2. Waste minimization program with 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) Principle (Integrated Waste Disposal Site (Tempat Pengelolaan Sampah Terpadu), dissemination on 3Rs principle and garbage separation, composting organic waste)
3. Improvement of the Landfill infrastructure
4. Management of garbage gas (recovery of gas methane in landfill)
5. Construction of waste water treatment (construction of Community Based Sanitation Centers with toilets, washing, and laundry facilities(MCK-SANIMAS), Community-based Sanitation(SANIMAS), communal septic tanks, construction of Faecal Sludge Treatment Installation(Instalasi Pengolahan Lumpur Tinja))
6. Environmental and Public Health Empowerment Program

RPJMD Description
RPJMD Period 2011-2016
Supportive Mission Statement in RPJMD Mission 5: To manage natural resources optimally and sustainably with target (1) improved quality and productivity of forest resources and plantation area in order to reduce the rate of forest degradation; target (2) decreased disturbance and destruction in forest estates; target (3) increased forest management units at the site level.
Supportive Policy Direction in RPJMD: Agriculture and Forestry

Strategy: Accelerating forest and land rehabilitation by providing seedlings of forestry plant and Multi-purpose Tree Species (MPTS) for land reforestation, rehabilitation and reclamation; improving coordination of forest protection by provincial and district / city government; develop forest management units as administrator; Increase land-use planning and activity in all sectors.

Policy direction: Cultivation of high quality seeds and livestock breeds, and control of pests in agriculture, farms and plantations; Enhancement of agricultural, farming, and plantation business through the development of technology; Increased availability and quality of seeds / livestock breeds, livestock populations and optimized production from ruminants and non-ruminants and utilization of local feed ingredients as well as empowerment of farmers; Forest rehabilitation; Forest Protection and Natural resources conservation; Forest area stabilization.

Program: Watershed Function and Capacity Improvement Program that is based on community empowerment; Biodiversity Conservation and Forest Protection Program; Forest Macro Planning and Forest Estates Designation Program.

Supportive Policy Direction in RPJMD: Energy, Transport, and Industry

Policy direction: Development of new and renewable energy potential; Increased efforts to implement energy saving and conservation; Increased community empowerment in sustainable energy development.
